The pandemic was a very difficult time for me, I found myself homeless and unemployed. As, I had no money I wasn't able to support my family and looking back it was such a tough period for me mentally. I couldn’t believe that I was homeless I didn’t know what I was going to do, and I ended up rough sleeping for over a year.
Even though I was sleeping rough I didn't allow this to put me down and I continued looking for work. At this point however, I was no longer presentable, so it was difficult getting any calls back as it was clear I was homeless.
I was starting to lose hope, I had left my son in Brazil so I could provide a better life for him and I felt like I was letting them down. My luck started to change when I was approached by the Single Homes Project who supported me into accommodation.
Thankfully, I'm in a much more stable position now and with the support from Beam my I aim is to secure employment within the hospitality sector. I believe with your support I can really achieve this and continue to build a life where I can support myself and my children.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, I'm really looking forward to creating an amazing life for me here in the UK.
