What makes me happy is seeing other people happy. I love to see my children happy and I love helping others and seeing the difference I can make to their lives.
My family and I have been living in the same house for the last 11 years. Last year my aunt was diagnosed with terminal cancer and came to live with us. Although it affected our benefits, it was the easiest decision I have ever made. I’m so glad I can be there for her in her time of need and this inspired me to think about the kind of career I would like to do.
This year, there has been a lot of change. I separated from my husband, a few months later I lost my job and now the landlord is asking for their property back. It’s been a really difficult time but I’m now looking towards our future and the next steps.
Beam is helping me look for work as a carer which will provide stability for my family. However they’re also helping me with my long term goal of becoming a nurse. The first step will be for me to get my qualifications in the UK so that I can apply for apprenticeships and further study.
I am really passionate about helping people and am so excited to be taking steps towards a career in nursing.
