I'm really looking forward to learning something new, a skill that I can take with me anywhere in the world.
When I came back home to England a few months ago, I didn't have anyone here or anywhere to go, so ended up on the streets. St Mungo's helped me find a place to stay and are helping me rebuild. They put me in touch with Beam and I haven't looked back since!
Helping people really makes me smile, and I like fixing things with my hands, so I think that training to be a plumber is a great next step for me. I'm looking forward to seeing an outcome after I've fixed something, and knowing that I did my best in my work - and to doing a job that makes the people around me happy.
Getting back into work will help me keep moving forward, closer to a better life. It will help me save for rainy days, and for a nice home and a car. I'll be able to take care of myself, my own responsibilities and my own bills. I'll be enjoying life again. And then, in a couple of years, I can try giving back to others.
