Hello, I'm Georgie. I'm a proud mum to a wonderful 13-year-old daughter who works at the stables on weekends. I've been a care worker for dementia patients for the past 12 years. It's hard work, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Despite the challenges, my job brings me a lot of joy. But lately, life has been a bit tough. We've been sofa surfing for two years, staying with different friends and family. It's been quite difficult, especially for my daughter's mental health.
The biggest challenge we've faced is supporting my daughter through these tough times. We've been kicked out from living with my mum and it's been a struggle to keep our spirits up, but we've managed to stay positive. My daughter is a big part of my strength - her resilience inspires me every day. We have two lovely rabbits that also keep us company and bring us joy. Despite the hardships, we've never lost hope.
Our goal with Beam is to find a place we can call home. A place where my daughter and I can have our own space and create bonding time, which we haven't had in a while. I can't express how grateful I am for the help and support we're receiving. It's amazing to know that people want to support us in achieving our goal. In two years, I see us living in a lovely, stable home, my daughter being happy again, and me being promoted at work. When we achieve this, it will be an amazing feeling. We can go back to living a happy life in a stable home.
