I’m in the final stage of my Level 2 Beauty training. We are doing eyelash and eyebrow tinting as well as eyelash perming. Once I've passed this unit I will be all set to start my Level 3 and become fully qualified!

I’m now in my last module of the level 2! All my classmates are continuing to the level 3 because it allows you to go into a better job - and I'm hoping to join them 😃 I'm also so excited to study the new modules involved in the level 3.

Over the course of a month and a half, I have made an effort to develop my skills and experience in numerous different ways, both with colleagues and customers.
I have being doing waxing and from now for about a month I will be doing manicure and pedicure. Last week was my first manicure course and it was amazing. I was doing my colleagues nails, my tutor was happy with it and said, "well done hana!!!" 💅
Thanks to my supporters, I'm developing my skills and building my confidence.
I checked my campaign everyday and I found out it had funded online. It was in the morning on a Sunday. When I found it - oh my god! I was so happy I celebrated and I told my sister and my son straight away!
I raised £3,845 from 480 supporters for beautician training.
I started training last week on the 4th April - the campaign funded and I started training in less than a month. I never expected that.
I am feeling really confident that I can do this. We are just starting to learn about waxing! For this part of the training we spend 4 weeks learning and then 2 weeks with clients. I’ve never done anything like that before.
I have met loads of friends through the course - I told them about Beam and they said it was amazing. I now have friends from France, Germany and from all over the world because of this course.
I am learning a skill and making friends - it has deepened my knowledge and there are so many things to learn. It is part time and I will be finished in September as a fully qualified beautician!
The plan is to then work in big hotels - there are so many opportunities for jobs as a beautician. Everything is open to me and I feel so positive about my future.
I was so surprised about Beam - the speed and amount of money, the course and transport - I can now get to my training!

In 5 years time I am going to set up my own salon and I will be one of the supporters for Beam - I’ll be giving back to others who need help because I understand where my money is going!

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.

A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
