I have been homeless for over a year now and I am honestly sick of sofa surfing. Since losing my previous property due to the landlord wanting to sell up, it has been extremely difficult to find a new home. The housing market is certainly not how it used to be and it is so hard to even get a viewing these days.
I have lived on my own before, so living with others on a temporary basis has been a new experience for me, an experience I am not enjoying as much however it is keeping me from sleeping on the streets.
I am desperate to finding myself my own place again, however I do not know where to start. I struggle with communicating with Landlords also, so I feel completely lost.
When Beam reached out to me, I was over to the moon to hear about all the different ways they could support me. This gave me the confidence boost I needed to start looking for properties again. They have been so supportive and I am really exited to possibly having my own space.
In the next two years I hope to be in my new home, living comfortably and building a sustainable life for my future.
Knowing that there is a huge community of people that also want to support me into a new home is truly something I have not experienced before, this is such an amazing experience.
