I'm a really hopeful person, but the last year has really tested me. Without my wife always being by my side, I wouldn't know what to do. She's been my rock and the person that's given me hope when times have gotten tough.
I lost my job when COVID-19 began. I was a waiter however the lockdown caused the restaurant to close down. I struggled to pay rent without a job and fell behind on my payments. Unfortunately, I ended up in an overcrowded hostel, where I don't feel independent. We don't have our own bathroom, kitchen or living room; nothing is private.
To get my life back on track, I must get a job quickly. That's why I would like to become a Warehouse Operative. However, over time, I want to train as an Electrician. I enjoy installing and repairing things, and I can see myself putting all my effort into it. One day, I would love to start an electrical business and employ other people.
There are many things I am looking forward to once I get a job. First is paying off my rent arrears and moving into our own home big enough to house our future children. I'm also looking forward to seeing my parents again. I haven't seen them in over 20 years because of what has been going on in my country. I can't wait for the time I can personally support them. Lastly, I'm looking forward to enjoying life, going on a nice holiday, getting a nice car and especially fixing my tooth!
