Whenever I think about my children or even just look at them, they make me smile so much. I have two - a boy and a girl! If all goes well with my training, I’m hoping to see a massive change in our living situation. Securing permanent employment will help me provide for my family.
A few years ago, the cost of suitable rented accommodation became unaffordable for me and I had to ask for support from social services. Me and my family have been living in a hostel ever since then. I’m hoping that after my training, when I have my new qualification, things will get better and I’ll secure a great job.
After doing some volunteering at a centre with children and providing disabled student support, I realised that it’s something I really enjoy. I get satisfaction from supporting children that need help and helping them to build up their confidence. Providing for my family is my priority and my main motivation, but being able to do this through something that I enjoy will be a great feeling. I’m really looking forward to being able to put to practice what I learn each week. Working in this field will also give me some flexibility to spend quality time with my own children.
