Hello, I'm Ian. Life has thrown me quite a few curveballs recently, with the most challenging being homelessness. I was living in social housing and working towards my scaffolding qualification when an unfortunate incident at work led to me leaving my job. This resulted in me losing my home and being admitted to hospital for six months due to mental health issues. Since then, I've been sofa surfing and trying to get my life back on track.
What makes me happy is simple - kindness, nature, art, music and food. I've been working hard to manage my mental health, staying positive and taking prescribed medication. I've also been applying for jobs, from farm work to retail, as I'm eager to get back to full-time employment. The support I've received from my mental health team and my caseworker, Daniel, has been invaluable. They've been helping me appeal my housing situation and navigate through this challenging period.
I'm excited about launching my Beam donations page because it offers an opportunity for me to have my own space, a place I can call home. My ultimate goal is to achieve stability - a stable home and a stable job. I envision my life in two years as fully employed with a routine and a stable home life. I believe that with your help, I can make this vision a reality. Every donation brings me a step closer to this goal, and for that, I am truly grateful. Your kindness means the world to me. Thank you.
