I have a lot of dreams but one day I hope to go to university to become an electrical engineer. Even though that seems so far away from where I am with my life at the moment, I know that this would be the right job for me.
I have been in the the UK for a few years since moving here from Sudan. When I first arrived I lived in a house in Manchester with other people seeking asylum for nearly 2 years. This was a hard time in my life, as I had no right to work which made it tricky for me to move forward with my life. Finally last year, I was granted indefinite leave to remain, and moved to London. I have been in a hostel with the YMCA ever since. I have been told I need to stay here for a while, and find a job before my housing situation can improve, but I have never had a job since leaving Sudan and I'm struggling to know where to begin.
For now I am studying English & Maths at college four days each week, and would love a job in the evenings or weekends which I can fit around my school. Once I have settled into my new job, and saved a little bit of money, I would love to go into the private rented sector and start to save for university.
