To start my working day knowing that I'll be doing the same again the next day will be such a relief. The stress of not knowing when my next shift will be weighs heavy on me. I'm a trained security guard so I know I'm in the right sector but I just need a bit more stability to make things work.
My landlord is evicting me and my family as he wants the property back. Everything was put on pause during the pandemic but it's just delayed the inevitable. As I have two children, finding somewhere affordable for us feels impossible whilst I don't have regular work. I'm benefit capped so I know the solution is for me to find a role with decent hours. I'd do all the hours I could to get us back to a better position financially.
I already have my door supervisor badge so I'll be using Beam to fund a CCTV course. I'm looking forward to the new opportunities it'll bring once I'm qualified. Although I'm keen to find something in the security industry, I'm open to doing other things too. I've done driving before and enjoy it so that could be another option.
Once I get my first pay cheque through, I'll use it to pay the bills and rent like everyone else! I'd like to save up for a new car and some furniture eventually. Having peace of mind by getting a stable income will be the best part of getting into work.
