Things have been very challenging since I moved to the UK. I've spent a lot of my time here homeless. Living on the streets is never easy. You are constantly looking over your shoulder. Living in these conditions can make you do things outside of your character. Adopt behaviours just to get by. I've made a few mistakes but I've learned from them. I just want to look forward to the future and build a nice life for myself.
Thankfully, after an extended period on the street, I was supported in housing by St Mungos. I was able to get myself settled and think about work for the first time. I had a good friend who was able to recommend me to his employer in construction, where I've been able to work as a cleaner on the building site.
I want to build myself up to start working in more construction-based roles on site. However, to do this, I need to have the correct tools. Once I have these I can start learning and progressing in my role. I've recently completed my CSCS course so I'm ready to take this step.
