I’ve struggled a lot over the past year, mainly due to a very stressful housing situation which really affected my mental health. I was in a dark place but my friends and family encouraged me to get help so I’m on the right track now, trying to find somewhere that’s good for me and my mental space so I can be more confident in myself. I’m getting through it by staying focussed on my future, getting back into work, finding my own place and achieving the greatness I know I am capable of, now that I’m in a safer space.
I’d like to work as a property caretaker or facilities assistant as that’s what I have experience in, having had jobs as a station assistant and caretaker before. I enjoy the independence it allows me, rather than having to stay sitting in one place all day, and I like to feel trusted at work. I’m a hard worker and don’t need much management when it comes to doing my job, so these roles are a good fit for me.
I have a degree in advertising so my long-term dream would be to work in that industry, but I’m also a content creator which is something I have a real passion for. I want to be able to mentor people and help them figure out how they can be the best person they can be with the skills they have, so coaching or mentoring is something I am keen to do. Ultimately I just want to be happy, to do something great and that allows people to remember me; to have a kid and share my wisdom with them, to have a family and make sure everyone's happy and healthy.
I’m happiest when spending time with my partner and my family, and creating content like TikToks and YouTube videos. I like seeing people enjoying things I've made for them; when people show love for that – that's what I live for. I’m doing lots of different things at the moment, such as gaming videos, filming taste test videos. The new content I'm creating has real potential, and I want other people to find their passion for it too.
Starting my own family is really important to me, and my partner is so supportive and encouraging of my journey. She makes me feel confident in myself, and I’m now open to getting out of my comfort zone and having experiences that challenge me. That’s something I never would have done without her.
What my past experiences have taught me is that you don't know how much support you have until you get it. People stepping up is the best feeling in the world; it feels like you’re in a dark room and suddenly there's a flood of light with loads of people standing around you. It feels amazing, as it allows me to go toward where I need to be going.
