After a few struggles with alcohol in my early years, I became homeless. This was a tough period for me and required a lot of strength to move past. Thankfully, I received support from some amazing services who guided me through recovery and into temporary accommodation where I'm living now.
Sometimes you take the little things for granted when you're in a secure living environment. Now I've experienced what it's like being homeless, I appreciate everything. I can now do stuff like washing my clothes, cooking food and having a good sleep. Life is much better since being in temporary accommodation but I'm ready to take the next step in my journey.
While I'm aware of my past, I want to focus on the future. I want to get into work and move into my own accommodation. However, I have larger ambitions than this. I want to train my way to a supervisor level in construction so I can start building my own business and be my own boss.
First things first, I need to complete my training and get back into employment.
