Myself and my daughter were victims of domestic abuse. We had to flee our home and move out of the area completely for our safety and well-being. We would fear coming home each day after school and would sneak out of the house each morning to get to school and my work place. We have experienced so much stress since we left our home. We have since been living at a friend's home. My daughter and I share a bed and wardrobe.
When we finally move into our own place, our hearts will feel sheer excitement. After 10 months of sharing a bed and room, my daughter can have the comfort of her own room and her own space. We will both have our freedom and life back and it’ll be our home. No one can bully, stifle or abuse us.
It feels exciting to know that help is around the corner and that there are good people out there who help people like my daughter and myself. I enjoy art and textiles and in two years from now I want to be able to start creating, making and selling my own work. My daughter will be at secondary school and I want her light to always shine.
