People have often said that I would make a good nurse. I think they're right! I love caring for others and get a buzz from making connections with different people.
Training as a phlebotomist will mean I can find stable work and start renting my own place. I want to increase my skills and put something on my CV that I’m proud of. In the future I would like to train as a nurse so phlebotomy will help me gain more experience in this area too!
I became homeless at the beginning of this year when I couldn’t live at home any longer due to a breakdown in a family relationship. My belongings were left outside for me to collect one day. I felt like I had nowhere to go. I’m currently staying at friend’s houses and I’m grateful I have a roof over my head but I can’t be in this situation forever. Sofa surfing means that I don’t get any privacy and I feel so indebted to the people I’m staying with. I’m trying to hold down a job as a carer but my hours are not permanent and I can't afford anywhere by myself yet.
I usually take every day as it comes. My housing situation over this last year has made it hard to make real plans for my future. I now have a plan that works for me and I’m so excited to see it through!
