Me and my two children were living with a friend when they got evicted by their landlord - this made me and my children homeless because I couldn’t afford the high rent prices in the private sector. I turned to the council for help and we were kept at a Temporary Accomodation which was really far from my daughter’s school. We would wake up as early as 5am so she could get to school and the distance really took a toll on us.
Recently, I was given a permanent home by the council for me and my children. I was so happy to have this opportunity and the feeling of not being homeless on the streets with kids is an amazing feeling, but I have also been very stressed as I didn't know how I was going to buy essential items for my new home. This was until I found out about Beam and all their amazing supporters - your kindness and generosity are making this move possible for me. It has made me feel alive again and I am so grateful.
My dream for the future is to build a career in nursing. In two years I hope to see myself being enrolled on a nursing course and achieving this long time dream. I also hope that others in need are helped through my story.
