I have six children who are now all adults between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. Four are still living with me, but I'm really keen to explore the world of work again and become more self-sufficient. I've worked in a coffee shop before I had my kids, and was self-employed for a few years selling jewellery, but I think my mental health is the biggest blocker for me at the moment.
I've had depression and anxiety for a long time, but things have been getting worse since the pandemic, and my confidence has taken a real knock. I'm OK with the daily tasks, but anything new and unexpected can be really difficult for me to handle.
I'm quite good at using a computer, and would love to find a role where I can use those skills if possible. Getting out of my comfort zone gradually, and earning money again would be a huge boost for me. My goal is to be off benefits, and have the freedom and independence to do the things I want to do.
