Hello, I'm Kamir. I've always been an active person who loves staying fit and going to the gym. It's not just about physical health for me, but also a way to manage my mental wellbeing. Since I moved to the UK, I've been living in temporary accommodation, while I'm grateful for the roof over my head, I long for the stability of a permanent home and a steady job.
Life's thrown quite a few challenges my way. From struggling to afford basic necessities like food and travel, to not being able to buy work clothes, it's been tough. But the hardest part has been the lack of independence. That's why I'm determined to find a stable job. I don't want to rely on Universal Credit, I want to stand on my own two feet. I've been applying for warehouse roles and I'm hopeful that with a bit of help, I'll soon be able to work over 30 hours a week.
In two years' time, I see myself working and developing my skills, for example attending business school and improving my English. I'm excited about launching my Beam donations page, not just because of the help it'll bring, but also because of the supportive community that comes with it. I can't wait to achieve my goal with Beam and start working. I believe it will feel really good because I don't want to just stay home, I want to contribute and make a difference.
