My cycle of homelessness started in Leeds after I lost my job. I did not have the same family and support network in London so things were tough. After a few months battling with my housing situation I decided to move back down to London. However, things were still a struggle in London. I could not find work and I was spending my time between the streets or a friend's sofas. I was doing what I could to get by but it was not easy.
My mental health was impacted during this time. It was hard to accept my situation and deal with my circumstances. I wanted to get back into work but I could not find a route to employment. Thankfully, I was supported by St Mungo, who assisted with my accommodation. Having somewhere to sleep was a relief. However, I'm not looking to stay in this position for any longer than necessary.
I've always been interested in the security industry but never had the support or finance to get into it. I have a lot of friends and family in the industry. My goal is to one day start up my own firm and start taking on contract of my own. However, firstly I want to complete my training and move into a secure role.
