What makes me happy is having my dog with me. We go for really long walks or runs together, and I love everything that has to do with nature. My sisters also definitely add a lot of happiness to my life as they are extremely supportive. Finally, music and dancing play a big part in my life!
My childhood wasn't easy. From seeing my dad beat my mum up, to experiences of abuse and then to being made homeless when I was 16 for 2 years because of my sexuality. My mother never accepted it. Before I returned to the house I had to convince her that I was straight; I had to live a lie. I’m now 28 and I couldn’t stand lying to her about my partner anymore, and the result was that last March I became homeless again.
It's quite heartbreaking, and it's been a huge obstacle for me to live in silence with my family. More recently, it's been terrible sofa-surfing with my dog, never knowing who will take me in the next day.
Throughout the years I’ve done a lot of retail Jobs. I’m currently working at a gym teaching classes as I like to be constantly active. But it’s time for a change. I’ve decided I want to work in construction on the cranes. I love jobs that are challenging and I know this job will at least let me be able to save up! I’ve never been able to save in my life because my salary has always been so low. My hope is that going into this industry will be a big game changer for me!
One day I want to have my own property so that my dog Linda and I can be safe. I'd also love to be able to help my mother if she allows me to come back into her life.
