I have been struggling with homelessness for quite some time now. I haven’t had a permanent home for a year, which has been difficult for me and my newborn daughter. My previous living situation was unstable because I had a poor relationship with my boyfriend's mother. This resulted in numerous arguments and eventually meant I had to leave. Declaring myself as homeless was a lot to come to terms with and took a toll on my mental health.
With the support I have received in the last few months I went from feeling hopeless to now feeling absolutely over the moon. I didn’t know there were so many lovely people out there. It brings me comfort knowing that, despite the difficult times I have recently experienced, I have brought my little girl into a world that’s filled with kindness.
I want to help other people just like they have helped me. A new home means that I am finally able to plan for the future with my children. I will have my own space and my daughter will have plenty of room to play. I want to have enough money to buy my own home one day. I know it’ll be a journey to get there but I feel more positive after this experience.
