I'd like to find a job in construction because it's something I've wanted to do for a long time. Leaving prison, I've been promised that I'd get help with gaining qualifications, but I often don't hear anything back from these services. I'm currently working as a warehouse assistant but the hours are variable, so I need to find something that's more stable.
After leaving prison, I was put into temporary accommodation. I've been there for a few months now, but my leaving date is shortly approaching. I've been looking privately and have spoken to the council to explore my options but I really need a higher income to be able to afford a stable property.
Other than my current job, I have no formal work experience because I went to prison at quite a young age. I'm extremely motivated to do something I'm passionate about and change my life for the better. I've been offered an opportunity doing roofing which I'm really looking forward to. I'd like Beam's support with training for my CSCS qualification, so that in the future my prospects in this industry are wide. In a few years time, my goal is to be stable, in my own home and building my career.
