Hello, I'm Lyds. Life has thrown quite a few curveballs my way, from battling homelessness to overcoming substance abuse. I've faced some dark times, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and the pain of losing a child. But I'm not one to give up. I've been clean for a year now and I'm determined to turn my life around. I'm currently living in temporary accommodation and my biggest dream is to have a place I can call my own.
My siblings and my boyfriend mean the world to me and have got me through all the ups and downs. But what I really want is to stand on my own two feet. I'm looking for work in cleaning or retail, something to help me build a stable life. I've not worked before, but I'm eager to put in the hours and the effort, I just need a chance.
Knowing that there are people out there willing to support me in reaching my goals is a strange mix of emotions. I've never had much support, so it's a little bit sad, but also incredibly heartening. In two years' time, I see myself in a lovely home, with a stable job, maybe even planning to start my own family. I can't express how much it would mean to me to reach this goal.
