Hello, I'm Mario. I arrived in the UK in 2002, hoping to build a better life for myself. However, life took a different turn and I ended up overstaying my visa. I've been living in the UK for nearly 20 years now, but it's been a struggle. I've been unable to work and support myself and for the last four years, I've been sleeping rough in a tent. Despite these challenges, I've remained resilient, finding solace in simple pleasures like walking and sightseeing.
I recently received my settled status, which means I can finally work and build the life I've been dreaming of. I've worked in numerous kitchen jobs before, but I'm really interested in construction work. I'm looking forward to the stability and good salary a job in construction could provide. I'm also looking forward to moving into my own home. I've been homeless for too long and I'm ready to have a place I can call my own. I'm willing to work hard and I'm happy to work any day of the week.
Knowing that there are people out there who want to support me in achieving my goals is incredibly uplifting. I've managed to get through the last four years thanks to various organisations, and now, with your help, I can finally move forward. I've never asked for donations before, so this is a new experience for me. But I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful that in two years' time, I'll have a proper home, a car, and maybe even start travelling. I'm hopeful that your support will help me secure a job and a future. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your generosity will not be forgotten.
