I am so excited to have this opportunity with Beam to gain a community of support. For me, this is a fresh start that will allow me to build myself personally and professionally. Despite this strange year, I now have more of a plan as to where I'm going.
When I graduated from university my plan was to find a job and start my life. However, the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to that. I've had to move back home with my family temporarily where I can't stay for long. I have a deadline to move out by and I need to make sure I'm prepared. Having a job will allow me to be able to save up enough, to move into my own flat and give me reassurance.
It's uplifting knowing you're supported by other people and a wider community. It's inspiring because not everyone is so eager to help but it's a great feeling knowing others are willing to support me with my dream.
Michaela is at risk of homelessness and is using Beam for training and employment support.
