I have been applying to hospitality roles and roles in cafés so that I can improve my English. I really enjoy speaking with people and helping them. I have a son and I remember how it was being a young mum with a small child. Mothers and their children often come to cafés, so I think finding this type of role will be fulfilling for me.
I fled from the war in Ukraine and I have been living with my sponsor family for nearly a year now. They are the perfect host family for me and have helped me out in so many ways. I'll have to move into my own property soon, so finding a job is key to me being able to afford these costs on my own.
In the future, I would really like to work in the film production industry. I would love to be a director or cinematographer. In Ukraine, I began to study in this field, but the war changed my plans and I couldn't continue with my studies. Whilst studying, I was also the director of a popular Ukrainian morning programme and was the editor of a column. Studying an administration course alongside work could help me to break into the film industry in the UK - for example, starting off in a secretarial role and working my way up.
I think it's important to like what you do. If you like what you do, you’re happy everyday. I get joy from helping others and being creative. In my opinion, my work should help other people to be happy, have positive emotions and to believe in themselves. I’m taking this journey year by year and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me.
