I moved to England seven years ago with my children so that we could live with their father and be a proper family. When we moved, he became a different person. He started acting aggressively towards me and this made it impossible for us to stay together. I began working so that I could make enough money to find a safe place for me and my children.
Ever since the divorce, my housing situation has been quite turbulent. As a single mum who works part-time, it has been a real challenge to find a place of our own due to the big gap between the market price and my low income.
Going from being evicted from my property and not knowing where me and my two children will sleep to now having an abundance of support is a massive breath of fresh air. I am proud of how far we have come already and I hope finding a home will lay the foundation for more good things to follow. In a few years time I hope to be settled in my new home and focussing my attention on starting up my own business.
