I've been sofa-surfing with my friends all across London, which has been incredibly difficult. I have a 8 year old daughter, who should be staying with me every other weekend, but I haven't been able to do that since I have been staying with friends.
It's been this way for a while now, since I lost my job in the pandemic and then couldn't keep up with the rent payments. I ended up using all of my life savings on rent and I was eventually evicted by my landlord. I've worked all my life, so I never thought I'd be in this situation, which is a hard reality to face.
I have an interview lined up soon which I'm really excited about in logistics which will be perfect for me. I could do with some support with tech, travel and new work clothes but my next step is to solve my housing situation after I find a job.
I really need my own space, and a base for me and my daughter. I'm keen to start to look for a 1-bed flat to rent privately once I know I can afford it and keep up with the payments. I used to do ultra-marathons and love to run, so I'd love to start exercising again and spend more quality time with my daughter once everything settles down soon.
