I’m so excited to stand on my own two feet again!
I am a single mother living in a woman’s refuge. My husband was abusive, so after my daughter turned three, I left. I was the first woman in my family to have escaped from an abusive environment. Having the courage to leave, and then live with strangers in the refuge, has been a very difficult experience for me. There’s been so much uncertainty.
I want my daughter to be able to live with me, but she won’t be able to do that until I move out of the refuge by starting work. My dream is to live with her again in a home just for us, with a career so I know I will be able to take care of her. I want her to see that she has a strong mother that she can be inspired by. Happiness for me is talking to my daughter.
I am a very compassionate, kind, and sacrificial person. I have already had experience in health and social care, and I would like to continue making an impact in this kind of meaningful employment.
