I want to be able to have a successful career as a midwife, that's the dream. I want to go to university and study so that I have a job that I can rely on. I have a young daughter now and want to be able to provide her with whatever she needs. As soon as I am in work, I want to get some toys and things that will help her develop. Being born during lockdown, I don't want her to miss out or fall behind.
My daughter is my world, but when my family found out I was pregnant they kicked me out of the house. I had to make a homelessness application to the council who fortunately provided us with temporary accommodation. My plan now is to get into stable work that pays well so I can build a future for us both. I want to be an example for my daughter to look up to.
I really enjoy supporting people and have previously done some training in supporting young people. I'd love to work as a mental health support worker as this is an area I am really passionate about. Right now, it feels like coming out of the dark and seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Seeing that there are good people out there through Beam helps me not to feel alone.
