I can see myself wearing my chef whites, plating up amazing food, that's made by me! Maybe one day I could open my own restaurant. I want my children to see me working so they have a positive role model to look up to.
For almost 10 years now, I've been in temporary accommodation. The hardest thing about not having a permanent home is that every time we get moved, the kids have to move schools as well. We've been moved 3 times so far. The most important thing to me now is that I get myself a stable job and permanent accommodation; having these two things will be lovely and really good for the kids.
Growing up, I taught myself how to cook. I love to eat and I especially love cooking for others. I want to make people as happy as I am, when I eat new, amazing food. I can cook the basic English dishes quite well now, like shepherds pie! But Italian food is my favourite. I think my lasagne is pretty good now but I'm sure I could make it even better! It will be amazing to learn how to cook so many more dishes, like Thai cuisine. I had been thinking about a course I could go on to improve my skills, so going back to college is an opportunity for me to learn so many new skills and also meet other people who really enjoy food and cookery too.
My children are still growing up, so this is the first step of many for me. After the course, I'll likely start off working in a school or cafe. And then as I progress, I want to work in a high-end restaurant. Every day, my children inspire and push me to be better and better so I know together we'll get there.
