Previously, I lived in a shared accommodation which had a lot of problems and was in complete disrepair; the landlord was not ready to make any improvements. My living situation was horrible and it was quite dangerous for me and my daughter. There was no central heating, no hot water and all the external doors in the property were removed because the landlord wanted to evict us at the end of our time there!
For eighteen years, me and my daughter had to share a room, which made me feel very sad. I really wanted her to be able to have her own space, just like her friends. The journey to finding an alternative property has not been simple, but I am really happy to have found somewhere safe and secure for me and my daughter.
I work as a carer and once I receive my permanent residency, I would love to move into further education to improve my professional qualifications.
