Ray's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as a tiler.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
College is really going well - I'm on my sixth week now. It's intense but the finish is starting to take shape. You can see some of my work in the pictures!
I'm really glad I had the opportunity to do this, so thank you so much to all of my supporters. 😁
I've started my tiling course and have nearly completed my second week.
I’m really enjoying it though it’s not as easy as I thought it would be. Especially the diamond shaped tiles when you have to pull it round the wall - there’s a sequence affect, it’s very tricky and every cut has got to be precise otherwise it could throw your wall out of shape. It takes a lot of concentration but it's going really well! 👍
Thank you to all of my supporters making this come true. I can actually see myself doing this for a living now and it's not just a dream. So thank you to everyone who has contributed.
I'm booked onto a tiling course with a start date in September! 🎉
I'll be keeping busy until then with some maintenance and construction projects at my church.
I would like to say a big thank you to all of my supporters so far, who have believed in me and are helping me reach my goal. It's overwhelming to think of how people have helped me get here.
I've been busy doing voluntary work doing bits and pieces of construction at a Holy Ghost residence. ⛪ I help Father John doing various jobs maintaining the house. 🔧 It’s been keeping me busy and I am excited waiting for the course to start to get back to some structure.
I’m really overwhelmed reading all the mini texts from my supporters.
It’s really touching so a big thank you to them out there. 🙏

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
