I moved to the UK in 2016 and I got stuck in and worked hard. I had all kinds of jobs from being a delivery assistant, a store assistant and a labourer, however my last job was especially hard. I was made to carry heavy pallets with my hands when the equipment wasn't working and I had to go to the hospital.
All of the hard earned money I saved up was used for my rent and basic living costs and then I shared the remaining amount with my family. Eventually, I gave them every penny I had and I could no longer afford my rent. This led me to become homeless. I was sleeping rough on the streets and this isn't easy. I ended up getting mixed in with the wrong crowds and life took a downward turn. St Mungos supported me into temporary accommodation but now I am being pressured to leave shortly so I need to find work as soon as possible.
I have worked hard to turn my life around and I am working hard towards becoming a security guard. That is my dream. I take pride in working towards earning my SIA license and passing training so I can have stable work. This line of work also means I can protect others and serve the community
