One day, I would love to build a family, and create a really safe and stable environment for us all. In order to do that I need a little bit of stability and money behind me first. I have an expired security licence that I would love to renew, but I would also like to increase my chances of getting a job in a warehouse. I love to learn so the opportunity to upskill to help me with my employability is amazing.
I was born in Venezuela, and I lived in America before moving the UK seven years ago. I was working in warehouses and hospitality, and renting privately, before starting college. During my studies, I hurt my back and lost my job so I ended up in financial difficulty, unable to pay my rent. I slept on the streets for nearly a month while I was studying, going to night shelters or sofa surfing whenever I could. Ultimately I couldn't continue with my course anymore and I had to drop out.
Currently I'm living in a studio flat, getting financial help from the government but I'm still struggling to pay my bills, and keep on top of my rent. Here in London I can feel really alone at times, as I have no friends or family here which can get me down. One of the things which has got me through though is my faith. I have a strong community support network now, as I try to come to the church at least twice a week to help out which has made me feel a lot better.
Having a campaign makes me really excited, as now I feel so full of hope! Becoming unemployed and homeless has been really hard, so I feel like I am back on track to finding a great job and getting a stable source of income.
