I'm used to high-pressure environments. I've worked in some of London's top kitchens and the output required to maintain employment there is unreal. I coped with it and made myself a career in the restaurant industry as a chef de parties. I was offered an amazing opportunity at a new establishment which was too good to turn down. Instead, it turned out it was too good to be true. After a few months, I was left without a job and a difficult loving situation.
I was living with my grandmother at the time but the situation became very intense. Unfortunately, her mental health was deteriorating and it was not a liveable situation anymore. Thankfully, I was supported into accommodation by the council and YMCA. While I'm grateful for having a roof over my head, this is not the type of environment I want to live in. I'm surrounded by negative influences.
I'm a positive person and I like to be doing things with my time. This is why I want to retrain and get back into work as soon as possible. I'm looking forward to being able to support myself and get my own place.
