I moved out of my mum's house due to some family issues, and have been living at a hostel for the last eight months. Its not easy when you're 21 and I didn't have many people around me so I was struggling because I was alone. Focusing on staying fit and healthy has been really good for my mental wellbeing. I go to the gym which helps me a lot, as well as playing football. I'm also a big movie fan so spend a lot of time going to the cinema too.
Now that I'm getting back on my feet, a job as a lorry driver is an opportunity to become financially stable with a steady income. I used to do Amazon delivery and I really enjoyed doing door to door deliveries and meeting new people and just having a conversation with them and helping them to start the day of with a smile. The good thing with HGV driving is that there is no shortage of work out there; there are new businesses everyday trying to transport their goods and products, and these products are what makes the world go round, and I want to be able to assist with that.
I really appreciate those who are supporting me. I've gone through a stage where I've felt so alone, and things like this show there are people looking out for me and looking to help others - I think that's very rare in this world.
