I first came to the UK in 2014 from Bangladesh. My husband is still living in Bangladesh - he is waiting on a VISA so that he can join me here, so at the moment I'm here by myself with our 1 year old son. It's been difficult trying to juggle looking after my son by myself with trying to find work.
I’m in temporary accommodation and I’ve been here since October last year. Before that, I’d been living with my auntie, but my son and I needed our own space. I’m pleased we have a place to call our own now. All that’s missing is a stable job so that I can look after my son and also hopefully have my husband join us so we can be a family again.
I’m looking forward to becoming a carer so I can look after people - it’s what I really enjoy doing! It's going to be great for my language skills as well - as I'll be speaking to clients everyday, I hope my English will become fluent really quickly!
We have the bare minimum in our flat right now. We don't even have a bed yet, so with my first pay cheque I’d love to buy us a proper bed, and then a TV and some clothes for my baby and I.
