Hey I am Susan - but I hope you can see me as a mother - that's who I am at the core, a mother who loves her children and dreams of providing them with a safe and stable home. Life has thrown us some curveballs, and for the past seven months, we've been without a home of our own. Despite the challenges, I find joy in the simple moments with my children and friends, like playing our favourite game at the dinner table, discussing the best and worst moments of our day.
I've been through a lot, including a long period of domestic abuse and dealing with depression and anxiety. I've worked in social care and have jobs waiting for me and I'm excited to get into a stable living situation and dive back into work. My focus is on finding a 'Forever Home' for my children, a place where they can thrive and we can finally leave the instability of the past behind us.
The support from Beam and all of you means the world to me. It's the first time in my life I feel like I'm not alone. It gives me hope that my dreams are not unrealistic and that a brighter future is possible for me and my children. I'm excited to share my story, start over, and someday pay it forward.
