Hello, my name is Teny. I've had a long journey to get to where I am today. I'm originally from South Sudan and the path that has led me to the UK has been filled with many challenges. There were times during my journey when I had no money, no idea of what the future held for me, and often went several days without food or drink. I had to encourage myself to keep going. When I finally arrived in the UK, I spent 7 days on the street after receiving my documents. But despite all this, I've remained brave and determined.
What makes me happy is simple - communicating with people, being around animals, listening to music, and being active. I've always been interested in construction and cleaning work, having had some experience in these fields back in Sudan. I'm currently in temporary accommodation and have been applying for jobs every day. I'm eager to build up my experience, find a stable job and a safe home. I'm also keen to continue my education, particularly in English, to give myself more options for the future.
Knowing that there are people out there who want to support me in achieving my goals makes me feel incredibly happy and proud. It's a great feeling to be helped by others and it means a lot to me. In two years' time, I see myself in a better place, in a better position, living happily and even being in a position to help others. I'm excited about the prospect of launching my Beam donations page, as it brings me one step closer to achieving my goals. I can't wait to feel the excitement of achieving these goals with your help.
