Life has taken us on quite a journey. In 2014, we had to leave our beloved city of Sloviansk due to the war in Ukraine. We moved to Kyiv and built a new life, only to have to uproot again in 2022 due to a full-scale invasion. We relocated to Warsaw, but the constant threats from the aggressor country made us feel unsafe. So, we made the decision to move to England and build a new, secure life here. We're tired of the constant relocations and are ready to settle down.
We're currently living with a host family, who have been incredibly kind and welcoming. However, we can only stay here for so long. We've been browsing for a place of our own, but the process has been challenging, especially as we're still trying to navigate the language barrier. We're looking for a place that feels like home, where we can keep our car and where my son Nikita can continue his studies at college.
In two years' time, I see myself owning a salon, Nikita graduating from college, and us living in peace in our new home. Achieving this goal will strengthen our faith in people and fill our hearts with gratitude.
