I've dealt with hardships all my life. At a young age, I was diagnosed with a rare bone condition that makes it easy for me to dislocate my joints. I also have severe dyslexia which can be challenging. However, I'm an extremely positive person and do not let these things hold me back.
Last year was tough for me. After struggling to stay in work during the pandemic, I then lost my father. He meant a lot to me so this was a difficult situation for me to deal with. This was made worse by the fact I do not have the right to stay in our home, and the council are now prepossessing the home. This left me with very few options and I was genuinely worried for the future.
I just want to find a secure home where I can start get rebuild myself. In a few years time I want to have a stable job, my own place and who knows, maybe even settle down with someone special and build a life together.
Each person we support into housing does in-depth budgeting with their caseworker to make sure they can sustain their new tenancy using benefits alone if necessary.
