My dream is really quite simple: to have my own place and to have a job. We often take simple things for granted. In reality, simple things are usually the best. This is something I learnt while I was homeless.
I struggled for many years with addiction. For me, addiction and being homeless were related. It was a difficult time in my life and not something I ever want to go back to. Since becoming sober, I have a newfound appreciation for the simple things in life and I cannot wait to start living a full life again.
I want to be a carer because I like contact with people and above all, I like to help people in need. I've received so much help from different organisations like St Mungo's in the last few months. I think it's time for me to give back to society and not just take like I used to.
Launching my campaign on Beam has been quite overwhelming. I feel like my life is finally getting back on track and things are changing for the better. I've never felt more ready to get back to work and start contributing to society again. Beyond getting back to work, I'm looking forward to returning to music and getting a guitar. Music and literature are two of my passions, and I really miss playing the guitar. Everything about the future looks great and I cannot wait to see what's next.
