When I arrived in the UK as a refugee, I worked for over three years as a chef and recently made the difficult decision to leave my job and pursue a career in the civil service, where I can help people find jobs and support them to solve their problems. However, my current zero-hour contract working as a support worker has given me an unstable income and now put me in a position of uncertainty and constant fear of losing my home at any point.
I am a hardworking individual who has always believed in the power of community and playing my part to help and encourage others to succeed. Therefore, I do not want to give up on finding a new support work position where I can give back to society and have a stable enough income to not be at risk of losing my home. To help me achieve this goal, I would need a computer to be able to search for jobs and improve my situation.
Finding people willing to support me and my goals fills my heart with gratitude. For years I have volunteered and served others, putting their needs before my own. I have always struggled to ask for help, but now I realise it is ok. Launching my donations page is a big step for me, but I am excited to share my story and hope one day it might encourage others to do this too. Thank you!
