Around three and a half years ago I lost my job and then my house. I remember clearly the day my family and I had to move out. I had to gather up all our possessions knowing that we had nowhere to go with them. My daughter was at school at the time and telling her what was happening was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done.
Being homeless is one of the more horrible things you can go through as a human being. Especially when you have children because you feel like you have failed your family. Luckily, things started to improve for me when I was introduced to a service that helps you see things differently. They gave me hope and faith that anything is possible to those who believe it. I now feel incredibly positive about the next chapter of my life.
I have always loved being around children, I have a daughter and 11 nieces and nephews! I’m so excited to do my training as a teaching assistant as I love helping and seeing children succeed. Whilst I do my training I will be looking for work as a Support Worker. Having been through it myself, I’m looking forward to helping others and giving them hope.
