It’s the simple things that make me happy, like being healthy or enjoying the outdoors, especially during the summertime where you can sit, relax and catch up with friends. Also, I love trying to make the world a better place and helping others. It might sound silly but simply just helping someone with directions makes me feel good.
2020 was a struggle for everyone, I was certainly not immune to its impact. During the early stages of the year, my mum became very ill and I was placed on furlough. In November my mother passed away, and I lost my job in December. I'm now facing eviction from the family home as I don’t have the right to succession. The council are thankfully supporting me with my housing situation and Beam are helping me get into work. It's a long journey ahead but I'm happy I'm at least on the right path.
I've worked in IT for 13 years in the city now. This is where I see myself long-term, however, I want to take some steps to build up my finance knowledge and complete some important training. I will be looking for a role as a warehouse operative while I complete the relevant training and feel ready to move back into the IT sector.
My dream for the future is to be able to own my own property one day and to be able to earn a good standard of living doing a job I love. Also to see a better world where more people are kind and caring towards one another.
