The Great Shelter Bake Off!
The Baking Brigade welcomes everyone in the building to try the cakes and raise funds for Beam, the small award-winning London charity that is raising money through its online crowdfunding website to support people who are homeless to get into training.
Cakes will be £1 per slice, going towards Beam. You can donate online to Beam here if you want to support them beyond the use of your fork! (We’ll also have buckets for donating in the room.)
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be homeless.
But many people don’t have that luxury. Over 250,000 people in the UK are experiencing homelessness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Beam believes in the potential of everybody and the power of stable employment to help people achieve independence.
100% of the money will be used to help homeless people get into work. Beam will send us photos and updates so we can see support them along their journey.
