I'm a friendly, family-oriented single mum with two lovely children. What makes me happy is seeing my kids happy and enjoying themselves. So being in a situation where that isn't the case is difficult to take in.
For the past couple of years, I haven't been in a place where I can call home. My cousin has been really kind to allow us to stay over at her house. However, the house isn't suitable for all of us to live in. It has gotten quite crowded, and my kids have started to become troubled by the situation.
My biggest challenge has been my daughter becoming sick last year. It's been too much-having housing and health issues at the same time. I've had to leave my job at the hospital to become a full-time carer for my kids.
I'm excited that I now have the support to move into a new home. Once I've found a home suitable for my kids, I will go back to work and provide everything I can to help my child's illness improve.
Each person we support into housing does in-depth budgeting with their caseworker to ensure they can sustain their new tenancy using benefits alone if necessary.
