Being homeless was a situation I never thought I'd end up in but the breakdown of my relationship led this to happen for the first time in my life. It was a really stressful period which affected my performance at work and unfortunately resulted in me losing my job. I was kicked out of the house and started sofa surfing which was okay at first but left me exposed to the most traumatic moment of my life.
During that time, I was hanging around with the wrong people and was stabbed after an altercation that I wasn't involved in. It was incredibly traumatic and the situation made me realise that I really needed to get my life back on track quickly.
I reached out to a local homeless shelter who helped and gave my life some stability. Since the event, I've been focussed on improving myself as much as possible and have started therapy to help me deal with the PTSD, which has really helped. The next step for me is getting a job and I'm really thankful that Beam and so many people like you are supporting on my journey.
